OUR VISION

Through campus chapters, students are empowered to actively partake in impactful dialogue with Middle East experts. These chapters provide exceptional and invaluable spaces for students to expand their networks, publish their work, and, most importantly, grow through deep engagement with critical issues in the Middle East. We offer emerging leaders a platform to share their perspectives, allowing them to influence their peers and the broader community. By creating stimulating environments and promoting meaningful discourse, we ensure that our students develop a comprehensive knowledge of Middle Eastern affairs and prepare them to become thoughtful and informed thinkers.

Meeting

Non partisan

We are, in every extent, a non-partisan organization dedicated to the free exchange of ideas on a variety of topics concerning the Middle East and Africa. It is imperative that there continues to be spaces for understanding amid campus conversations often clouded by distrust. Politically, we lean neither left nor right, but rather stand for the convening of differing opinions and beliefs. Where our organization will take an ironclad stance is in humanity. Simply put, we believe in humanity. The root cause of the worsened state of dialogue on campus is dehumanization. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict exemplifies this, where both Israelis and Palestinians alike continue to be stripped of their humanity, fueling division and animosity.  We believe in humanity regardless of someone’s birthplace. While we are nonpartisan in every respect, the one thing we are not afraid to push is the recognition of humanity everywhere. To that end, we foster good-faith dialogue on issues throughout the Middle East and Africa, including the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

OUR CONTEXT

CIMEA is a social startup officially formed in the final months of summer 2024. If you choose to involve yourself with our organization, you will be collaborating with a growing startup at an exciting stage of development. We are in effect asking you as chapter leaders to take a risk on us, our values, and our mission. All of what has been described in the document so far is being put to the test during this fall and spring academic year. By joining our efforts to create more spaces on campus, you will have the unique opportunity to influence and define these spaces as part of our inaugural cohort of campus leaders. We will look to your ingenuity and your leadership in helping us fulfill our shared vision, both through the strategies outlined and the creative solutions you will contribute. This is an opportunity for both you as chapter leaders and us on the national team to build something new together.
